SFU Beedie School of Business hosted their biannual Community Appreciation Night (BCAN) on November 20, 2020 to celebrate SFU Beedie’s network of alumni, supporters, and partners.

The theme of the evening was “Creating Connections.”  In a world where information is more freely available, personal connections are an increasingly valuable resource.   The quality of these networks can support student and organizational success.

The CPA Education Foundation (CPAEF), which has been a proud supporter of SFU for over half a century, was delighted to have been included in the evening. Dr. Peter Tingling CPA CA, associate dean with the SFU Beedie School of Business and a member of the CPABC provincial board, was in attendance along with many other CPAs.

Each year, the CPAEF offers six scholarships to SFU Beedie accounting students (see the Helping Students section of the CPAEF website) as well as various supports to accounting faculty including research grants, Speaker Series and other professional development opportunities.

David Chiang CPA CA, CPABC’s vice-president member advice and programs said, “we’re delighted with the high caliber of graduates from the SFU Beedie School of Business.”  He added, “we’re proud to support SFU accounting students and faculty.”
