CPAEF Awards Faculty Development Grant to SFU|Beedie School

The CPA Education Foundation of BC (CPAEF) has awarded a $6,000 grant to SFU|Beedie School of Business for faculty development.

SFU|Beedie has used this money to invite the following three speakers to present their research to local faculty members:.

  • T.J. Wong, University of Southern California (May 2019);
  • Dr. Mandy Cheng, University of New South Wales (September 2019); and
  • Dr. Tian Xiao Li, Georgetown University (October 2019).

The grant application was submitted by Dr. Karel Hrazdil CPA CGA, professor at SFU|Beedie and director of the executive MBA program.   The purpose of these grants is to support the ongoing development of accounting faculty and to promote the advancement of accounting education in BC.

Brenda Waechter, FCPA FCGA, chair of the CPAEF said, “The CPAEF is delighted to support SFU with these grants and in continuing our long support of SFU faculty and students.”
