CPABC Burnaby/New Westminster Chapter Creates Award at SFU|Beedie

The CPABC Burnaby/New Westminster Chapter has created a new award at Simon Fraser University | Beedie School of Business to recognize a 3rd or 4th year student in the Bachelor of Business Administration Program with a concentration in accounting.

The recipient of this $1,500 award, funded by the generosity of chapter members and matched by the CPA Education Foundation (CPAEF), is selected by SFU.  The chapter and CPAEF have pledged to support this award for a minimum of three years.

Joanne Liu, CPA CGA, chair of the CPABC Burnaby/New Westminster Chapter said, “the chapter is proud to support SFU students and wish them success as they pursue their careers as professional accountants.”  David Chiang CPA CA, vice-president member advice & programs,  said “the CPAEF is pleased to contribute to this new multi-year award through the foundation’s matching program and we thank chapter members for their generous support.”

In addition to this award, the CPABC and CPAEF also offers the following awards:

  • CPAEF Business Administration Co-Op Award $2000;
  • CPAEF Desmond O’Brien Memorial Scholarship $2,000;
  • CPAEF Award WC Easton Scholarship $2,000;
  • CPAEF Award $2,000; and
  • CPABC Surrey/Langley / N.Delta Chapter Award $1,5000
