Simon Fraser University hosted a Speaker Series event with Dr. Danielle Lyssimachou discussing “How to Engage Students in the Classroom” on May 23, 2017.
Lyssimachou is an associate professor in accounting at Cass Business School in London. She provided participants with many tips on connecting with students in small and large classroom settings, and offered her advice on transferring learning concepts effectively to students. Lyssimachou’s shared her exceptional insight from her instructor training as a past participant of the International Teachers Program which is a program held annually in Europe and the US.
The session was organized by Dr. Kim Trottier CPA CA, associate professor of accounting in the Beedie School at Simon Fraser University with funding provided by the CPAEF under the Speaker Series program. The Speaker Series program provides funding to schools of up to $2,500 up to twice a year to help cover the cost of bringing influential and renowned speakers to support faculty development.
BC post-secondary business schools can apply for funding by completing the Speaker Series application form which can be found under the “Helping Faculty” tab of the CPAEF website. Applications are considered throughout the year.
