Trinity Western University (TWU) was awarded a CPA Education Foundation Speaker Series grant of $2,500 to support their event on October 15, 2018.
This learning and engagement event, “The Leadership Brain,” featured Terry Small (also known as “The Brain Guy”) who talked about how humour can stimulate student learning.
The Speaker Series grant application was submitted by Amanda Greenway CPA CA – a faculty member at TWU.
The CPAEF was represented by Jessica Chan, CPABC’s Senior Student Recruitment Officer. Said Chan, ““Tonight is a great opportunity for all of us to come together to share ideas, to discuss important business issues, and to build new, lasting relationships. This is a very exciting time for the accounting industry and is extremely significant for aspiring leaders and young professionals like yourselves. The CPAEF is delighted to continue its support of TWU faculty and we wish all the TWU students and alumni with success in your careers.”
Any BC post-secondary institutions can apply for a grant of up to $2,500 up to twice a year to support accounting faculty development. Since inception of the Speaker Series program in 2011, TWU has received $9,200 in funding from the CPAEF.
