CPAEF joins UNBC Williston Circle and named President’s Circle Silver Supporter

The CPABC Prince George/Cariboo Chapter has created a new student scholarship award at the University of Northern British Columbia (UNBC).

The award is for $1,000 and available to a full time undergraduate student enrolled in the Bachelor of Business Commerce program with a major in Accounting who has completed at least 60 credit hours.  Award recipients must demonstrate academic proficiency and indicate their intention to pursue the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation.   Also, to demonstrate community involvement and demonstrated examples of volunteerism.  The chapter has funded this award for two years through to 2019/20 with the first award expected in 2018/19.

This chapter award is made possible through the generosity of local chapter members.   Aaron Pitkethly CPA, chapter chair, thanked members for supporting local accounting students in Prince George.

The CPAEF also has three other awards, a CPAEF Graduating Award for $1,000, and two CPAEF Continuing Awards for $500 each.   In addition, the CPAEF matches the Chan Foucher LeFebvre Nelson Izgerean Naphtali Scholarship for $2,400.

Tim Tribe, vice-president university advancement at UNBC said, “we are pleased to include the CPAEF in our Williston Circle for annual giving and as a President’s Circle Silver support for your cumulative contributions to UNBC.  Thank you for investing in future possibilities through our students.”
